"That Was My President..."

On June 12, 1987, President Reagan, stood before the Berlin Wall, declared all of us Berliners and challenged the Soviet Premier to tear down the Wall.

Hold that wall!

But heed the Great Communicator.

He has declared himself.

So take him, take him, at Face Value   -

Please.

Open up - a crack,

A crack enough to suck him back

With you.

Then close and do not fear the crowd,

They will go home to attend to business.

Employ the man!

Make use of the Great Communicator.

He will speak for you, too.

“Bless another Bitburg, bitte?”

And he will well.

And he will enjoy working with you,

You Nazis in Redcoats.

Preserve that wall.

Keep that spokesman.

Then selectively suck in all our Berliners.

And we non-Berliners,

Alone on the outside,

Will say:

“Danke” and “Amen.”
